Religious Education:
St. Joseph Parish offers the following courses in the Religious Education Program: Kindergarten & Years 1-8.
Note regarding Course Sections A & B: There are two sections of 1st grade and 2nd grade offered on Mondays due to high enrollment. These will show as 1A & 1B or 2A & 2B. The A/B courses are the same- just two separate sections running at the same time.
Enrollment Fees
$200 - 1 Child
$300 - 2 Children
$350 - 3+ Children
+$35/per child - Book/Resource Fee
Prerequisites for Sacraments:
First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion
- Years 1 & 2 (previously referred to as grade) are required consecutive levels to prepare for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Both sacraments are made in Year 2.
Confirmation
- Years 7 & 8 (previously referred to as grade) are required consecutive levels to prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation. This sacrament will be made in Year 8.
To elaborate further, sacraments require two consecutive years of preparation as stated by the Diocese of Joliet, no matter what academic grade your child attends in school. As an example, if your student is in 2nd grade in school but has not attended Year 1 First Communion/Reconciliation prep in R.E., the child will first need to be registered for Year 1, not Year 2. If your child is on track for sacrament prep, please enroll accordingly. If you need further clarification, please email the director.
Sacrament Fees
$50/per child - First Communion/First Reconciliation (Year 2)
$15/per child - Bible Fee for Confirmation Resource (Year 7)
$50/per child- Confirmation (Year 8)
Class Switch Fee: $15/child
*Any student switching classes on or after August 31st will be charged a $15 fee.
Students will be allowed to switch classes once a year and only if there is room available.
